2026 Republican Conventions

All below relates to the conventions of 2026:
*Note, this information was provided during the afternoon of Primary Election Day! It was not even sent to the webmaster but received from an email forwarded by a precinct chairman the following day.

Precinct Conventions – The Combined Precinct Conventions for the Lubbock County Republican Party will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 7 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, Banquet Hall.

Please make plans to attend or convey your desire to be a delegate, to the county convention, to your precinct chair or a member of your precinct who plans to attend. Once the delegate list is turned in, it cannot be modified.

Lubbock County Convention – The 2026 Lubbock County Republican Convention will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at 9 a.m. at the Rock City Event Center, 5911 4th Street, Lubbock, Texas. Registration opens and 8 a.m.

Republican Party of Texas State Convention – The 2026 Republican Party of Texas State Convention will be held from June 11th through June 13th at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

 

Delegate Selection

Qualifications – One does not have to be present but one must qualify to be a delegate under at least one of the following:

  • Voted in the Republican primary election
  • Affiliate, by oath, with the party – meaning they didn’t vote in another party’s primary election or participate in another party’s convention process.

Selection – After it is determined that the individual meets one of the qualifications they must be elected by the current convention to be a delegate or alternate at the next level in the convention process.

  • An individual does not have to be present to be elected to serve as a delegate or alternate at the next level of the convention process
  • Once the convention has adjourned no other names can be added as delegates or alternates.
  • Anyone attending the Precinct Convention is a delegate at the Precinct Convention. It is from the Precinct Convention that delegates to the County Convention are selected.
